I’m totally spoiled…I can walk out my front door and be at the Grant Park Farmer’s in 5 minutes flat. I can head out around 930 if I want a shot at the good stuff or sleep in and get there around 11 for a cold brew and doughnuts…or pizza…or Farmburger…or a crepe…the choices are plentiful. You can shop for fresh produce, meats and cheeses or grab some fresh flowers, handmade soaps and other natural goods. The vibe is typically mellow with some guy playing an acoustic and dogs and kids playing in the meadow, away from the vendors.

The GP Farmer’s Market is a great spot for a picnic with friends in the shade of a large tree or at one of the new picnic table spots that was added earlier this year. It is super bike-friendly and you might even find a Bird or two leaned up against a tree for a quick ride around the park. The GPFM is held every Sunday from about 9 am to 1 pm; they take a quick break and last year reopened at The Beacon for a winter market. So come on over and check it out next Sunday…ride your bike, bring the family and enjoy.
